Product details
A hang-on-back (HOB) aquarium filter with adjustable water flow, an extendable intake, intake sponge and a surface skimmer for floating debris. The filter body sits behind the aquarium and returns water through a waterfall outlet.
Will a hang-on-back filter fit my aquarium?
Check the tank rim, lid opening and space behind the tank before ordering. Leave access to lift out the media for maintenance. Compare your normal water level and electrical supply with the supplied instructions. A tank's gallon size alone does not confirm fit.
Adjust water flow and check sound
Use the control knob to adjust the return flow for your setup. Waterfall sound, air entering the intake and vibration can vary with water level and mounting. This filter is not guaranteed silent or suitable for every small fish or shrimp setup. Check strong flow, air and filter noise.
First start and routine care
Fill the filter chamber with water and prime it as directed before connecting power. Do not assume automatic restart after a power interruption. Never run the filter dry. Disconnect power before inspecting the intake, media or impeller; follow the supplied instructions when reassembling. See aquarium filter setup and care.
What is included?
Filter body, extension tube, filter cartridge, intake sponge and intake tube. Aquarium, animals and decorative items are not included.
Which replacement media should I choose?
This listing is identified by ASIN B0GRX1PM2K. Current listing information identifies the filter as SF-02; its website address retains an older identifier. Check the model label on your unit before buying refills. For a unit labelled SF-02, choose SF-02 replacement cartridges, four-piece pack. Do not choose SF-01 cartridges based on this page's address or assume other models fit.
Cloudy water or unsure about fit?
Visible debris, milky cloudiness and green water can have different causes. Filtration does not replace suitable feeding, water testing and tank maintenance. Read the cloudy-water checks or ask about filter fit with your rim, lid and water-depth details.
